Prince Whiskers
This week Skyler got a new pet--a hamster named Prince Whiskers. Allie thinks that is the BEST hamster name she's ever heard. Allie had a hamster when she was a little girl; his name was Simon. Erik had a gerbil, and he can't remember what it was named. Skyler's hamster lives with her at her mommy's house, but we found a picture of a hamster that looks like Prince Whiskers. Please tell us if you had a hamster or a gerbil when you were a kid, and what yours was named. We're interested...

Prince Whiskers *is* pretty much the greatest hamster name ever. I used to have a gerbil named Larry, myself, which is far less romantic-sounding.

I'm so proud of Skyler's persistence in getting a RAT! Congratulations girl, I"m very proud of you. My hamster's name was "Sniffles" he escaped and crawled on my brothers face in the middle of the night. My mom just found his remains behind the dishwasher a few weeks ago and we had a burial. :(

I had one when I was a kid, but can't remember his name (it would probably be in taco language anyway). I left him at my cousin's for a weekend while we traveled, and when we came back, he passed away on a cold night...

My Mom bought me a hamster at the age of 10 female named it Daisy and two days later found that the private parts where not female. So I named him Doppey. Doppey went to school with me. He had that ball all hamster do and one day followed me to the basements stairs I forgot to close the door and thump, thump and u get the idea. The ball cracked out and Doppy lay there daised and confussed up side down. I thought he was dead. Screams and tears came out he was okay. Couldn't walk straight for awhile. Doppy was always in my pocket on a shirt or on my shoulder! On day my brother hit me and hit Doppy and hit the hamster on my shoulder and made is littl nose bleed. Daddy gave him a spanking for hitting the hamster but not for hitting me. Dobby lived for 5 years. And he died of old age in winter time in PA and hamsters do hibernate so I sat over the heating vent for a day praying for his life to come back. Then 5 yrs ago in a pet store with the sadness of heart Megan and I seen a little hamster with a cut on his back and an eye infection I couldn't say NO. He came home and 150.00 later with all materials to make a hamster a home, Mr.Gingles became the love of our life. Every night we took him out to play he would run around my desk while I was working and just once again crawl in a pocket to enjoy the travels. Megan took him everywhere she went. I would get home first from work and take him out and on day I found no life in Mr. Gingles. Megan made phone calls and so did I. We burried Mr. Gingles outside of our old home with company of family and friends.
Prince Whiskers is a cool name! But Prince Whiskers has to be from London with Royal descent!

HI! I am Erik's pet gerbil, Stewart. I can not believe you forgot my name. Life has been good to me and about as good as it gets for being a gerbil. I am in Scottsdale, AZ having a great time. Not too many predators here thank goodness. Can I visit sometime?
